Why Exercise Reminders? The idea for my website and my daily reminders came into focus one morning on the NordicTrack machine in my basement. I had dusted it off and donned my sneakers after reading articles in 4 magazines which all told the benefits of exercise, including new studies which got my attention. I realized I needed a steady dose of that kind of information and motivation, just so I wouldn’t forget. You wouldn’t think it would be easy to forget something that feels good. But so many people have told me of similar experiences—we have a time of exercising regularly, we feel good about ourselves physically and emotionally, we love it! And then something happens so we get out of our groove. And we forget. It becomes a huge hurdle to remember and find that groove again. My goal is to provide the gentle support so many of us need to simply remember that exercise matters. And that it matters enough to make room for it in our lives. Gently, realistically. Not aiming so high we fall flat and never try again. Not following some magazine expert’s advice which doesn’t connect to our own lives and to where we are. Instead, learning to become our own best experts about ourselves, on what works, what feels good, what feels like fun, what boosts our energy and well-being, and what is sustainable. |
